New Batangas State University Campus at LIMA Estate Brings Engineering Education Closer to Industry
Through its pioneering industry-based learning model, Batangas State University – in partnership with Aboitiz Economic Estates – enables students to build knowledge through direct exposure to industry while contributing to long-term workforce development and economic competitiveness.
Lipa-Malvar, Batangas – Starting August 2026, the Batangas State University–LIMA Campus will welcome 800 freshman engineering students inside LIMA Estate, advancing a shared effort by Batangas State University and Aboitiz Economic Estates to develop industry-ready talent for the region.
The interim campus is the first phase toward the planned 10-hectare Batangas State University-LIMA Campus, envisioned as the Philippines’ first learning hub for industry-based learning. Located within LIMA Estate’s industrial ecosystem, the campus brings engineering education closer to companies in manufacturing, technology, logistics, and business services, allowing students to learn in an environment shaped by actual industry operations and evolving skills demand.
Batangas State University developed the LIMA Campus around an industry-aligned academic model that connects classroom instruction with direct exposure to the workplace. Through this approach, students gain early insight into industry expectations, workplace practices, and career pathways, while companies benefit from stronger engagement with emerging talent long before graduation.
For Aboitiz Economic Estates, the campus supports Talent Edge, its estate-led workforce sustainability platform designed to strengthen talent pipelines, connect jobseekers to estate-based opportunities, support upskilling, and help locators build long-term workforce resilience.
The 10-hectare Batangas State University – LIMA Campus, located within LIMA Estate’s Industrial Hub, will serve as the Philippines’ first learning hub for industry-based learning, strengthening embedded workforce sustainability by directly linking engineering education with the evolving needs of industrial operations and supporting long-term talent development within the ecosystem.
